Sony SDX4-200C Tape AIT-4 200/520GB Cartridge

Sony's SDX4-200C is an Advanced Intelligent Tape 4(AIT-4) format tape cartridge. It has a tape length of 246 meters which enables a native data storage capacity of 200GB that can be expanded up to 520GB when compressed. It features the use of Advance Metal Evaporated 2(AME-2) technology which helps in higher recording density with proven reliability and durability. Enforced with Sony's DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating to increase the tape life and smoother lubrication is used to decrease friction and help the tape rotate smoothly. The tape also offers a fast native data transfer rate of 24MB/s and R-MIC (Remote Memory in Cassette) technology which provides rapid access to desired data and greatly reduced  loading and ejection times. The Sony SDX4-200C comes sealed in a transparent plastic casing which helps prevent  dust and static accumulation.
 In the AIT format Sony has applied  advanced technologies refined and proven over many years. Since the formats debut in 1996, AIT has employed AME (Adanced Metal Evaporated) tape, and received high acclaim from data storage  professionals for the outstanding reliability of its technology.AME II, the successor of AME, was developed for AIT-4.AME II enables AIT-4 media extraordinary a real recording density as well as its high durability. AME II uses a new method for  applying the magnetic layer to the tape, an enforced coating layer, and a newly developed lubricant for stable operation.
