Imation's 91270 is a Black Watch 9840 format tape cartridge. It has a native data storage capacity of 20GB which can be expanded up to 80GB when compressed.. It uses a mid-point load dual hub system in which the tape rides on a cushion of air that virtually eliminates friction between the tape and guides, enabling the fastest search speeds of any tape storage system. The Imation 91270 tape cartridge uses Polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) as substrate and with internal cartridge guiding the tape never leaves the cartridge for improved data integrity.
Exclusive Imation backcoating gives Black Watch Tape Cartridges the performance edge by dissipating static and wound-in debris for reduced errors, and by minimizing tape compression for improved tape stability. These cartridges also feature a precision tape spool for uniform tape wind and reduced tape edge damage, plus unique FlashGard weld for added cartridge strength.
